Consistent great service

This was my third time booking with Cancun Adventures, and they delivered again. I've used them for a catamaran tour before and an ATV adventure. This time I did the Tulum ruins excursion. The pickup was on time, as usual, and the guide provided a lot of interesting information about the site. They maintain a high standard, which is why I keep coming back. It's reassuring to know what to expect.

Snorkeling tour was amazing!

Oh my goodness, the snorkeling tour I went on was absolutely incredible! The water was so clear, and I saw so many colorful fish, even a turtle. The guide was super helpful and made sure everyone was comfortable. It was such a fun day, definitely the highlight of my trip to Cancun. I'm already planning my next vacation and will for sure book another adventure with them!

Smooth airport transfer

Needed an airport transfer. Booked it online. Driver was waiting. Took me straight to my hotel. No issues.

Good value for Chichen Itza

I booked the Chichen Itza tour after looking at a few different companies. I found a decent early booking discount on their site, which saved me about 15%. The price included transport and lunch, so I felt it was a good deal overall. The tour guide was knowledgeable, and everything ran on time. It was worth what I paid for the experience and convenience.

Planning a snorkeling trip, and a bit worried about rain. What's their policy if it rains the day of the tour? Do you get a refund?

O Omar Romero 2 months ago
Hmm, I don't think they usually refund just for rain, unless it's like a hurricane or something really bad that makes it unsafe. Most water activities still go on if it's just showers.

T Tom Vargas 2 months ago
AFAIK, they don't refund for typical rain. You might be able to reschedule if there's availability, but a refund is usually only for extreme weather cancellations by them.

Wondering about the "early bird" discounts. How far in advance do you need to book to get those, and what's the usual percentage off?

F Faith 2 months ago
I think I got about 15% off when I booked my Tulum tour like 2 weeks out. Worth doing if you know your dates for sure.

D David Y. 2 months ago
From what I remember, it's usually around 10-20% if you book a week or two ahead. Not bad for saving a bit.

Thinking about the whale shark tour during summer. Is that the best time to go or do they run all year? Want to make sure I actually see them.

M Mike 2 months ago
Whale shark season is definitely during the summer months, that's when they're around. If you go then, your chances are super high.

T Tara Okafor 2 months ago
You're right on time for that! Peak whale shark season is in the summer, so you picked the best time to book that kind of tour.

Is it easy to change your tour date if something comes up? Like, if I book a snorkeling trip for next week but then my plans shift.

M Megan 2 months ago
I changed my date once, but it was like a week in advance. They were pretty good about it, just called them up. Might depend on how close to the tour you try to change.

Yeah, I think you can usually change it without too much hassle, especially if you give them some notice. There's probably a cutoff point though.

Does anyone know if meals are included in the Chichen Itza tour price, or should I plan to bring snacks/cash for food?

B Beth Brooks 3 months ago
Yeah, usually a basic lunch is included. Don't expect gourmet, but it's enough to keep you going. Always good to bring extra water though.

C Cleo 3 months ago
Mine included lunch. I'd still bring some small snacks just in case, especially for the bus ride.

how do these guys compare to Viator or TripAdvisor? Are they more expensive or is the quality better?

S Shane Hughes 3 months ago
Viator and TripAdvisor are more like booking platforms that list a bunch of different operators. Cancun Adventures is actually the operator for their own tours, so sometimes it can be a bit more direct booking through them. Quality-wise, I'd say Cancun Adventures is usually pretty solid.

W Wendy 3 months ago
I've used both. Cancun Adventures feels a bit more specialized since they run their own tours, whereas with Viator you're booking through a third party who then connects you to a local operator. Often similar prices, but Cancun Adventures feels a bit more hands-on with their own excursions.

Are Cancun Adventures tours actually legit? Saw some mixed reviews online and just want to make sure before dropping a bunch of money on a family package.

K Kevin 2 months ago
Totally legit. I've used them twice for different excursions and had no issues. Guides were good and everything ran smoothly.

Yeah, they're one of the bigger operators down there. Don't worry, they're not some fly-by-night operation.

Hey, I'm thinking of booking a Chichen Itza tour for next month. Does anyone know if they do hotel pickup in Cancun? Staying at the Hyatt Ziva.

T Todd Hughes 3 months ago
Yeah, pretty sure they do. I was at a different hotel but they picked me up right from the lobby for my tour. Just confirm your hotel when you book.

K Kate 3 months ago
They usually do, it's pretty standard for these bigger tour operators. Just make sure to put your hotel name exactly right during booking and they'll sort it.
